by June 25th, 2017

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says it has restored power to all customers in St. Ann, who were impacted by last night’s fire at the Cardiff Hall substation, in Runaway Bay.

Director of Corporate Communications at JPS Winsome Callum says crews were able to restore power before the promised restoration time of midday today.

She says due to the fire damage at the substation, the power company may at some time in the future have to disrupt service to customers, to effect repairs.

She says the JPS is also continuing its assessment of the damage, as well as investigations into the cause of the fire.

The areas affected in last night’s outage were: Runaway Bay, Discovery Bay, Salem, Queens Highway, James Hill, Bohemia, Cave Valley, Nine Miles, Watt Town, Aenon Town and surrounding areas.
