Public health issues at Denbigh being addressed

President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society and Chairman of Denbigh Show Committee, Norman Grant says steps are being taken to ensure that issues highlighted by the Public Health Department is addressed prior to this year’s staging of the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food show.

The Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial show slated for August 5 to 7 in Clarendon.

Mr. Grant says the Public Health Department expressed an issue around food safety and persons not possessing food handlers permit at last year’s event.

He adds that discussions have been held with the relevant stakeholders to address the concerns.

Mr. Grant says the other issue raise by the Public Health Department is that of solid waste management.

He says this too is being addressed.

He says some 65 to 80 thousand patrons are expected at this year’s staging of the Denbigh Show.
