by July 3rd, 2017

Jamaican-born German tennis player Dustin Brown is through to the second round of the men’s singles event at Wimbledon.

He made progress after coming from behind to notch a 3-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 over Joao Sousa of Portugal.

The 32 year old will tackle world number one Andy Murray in the next round

There were signs that Murray was still troubled by the sore hip that had bothered him in the build up to Wimbledon – but they weren’t enough to stop him from marching straight into the second round outclassing Wimbledon debutant Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.

Also making progress on the day was French 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who beat Britain’s Cameron Norrie in straight sets…..6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

Meanwhile Australian 20th seed Nick Kyrgios retired injured in his first round match after losing the first two sets to French doubles specialist Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
