$115 m will be spent to clean drains in all municipal divisions, between July and September.

Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie says this is to mitigate against flooding, during the hurricane season.

He was speaking with parish disaster coordinators and public relation officers, from the country’s 16 municipal corporations in a special meeting at the Hyatt Ziva Hotel in St. James, earlier today (July 5).

The Local Government minister said additional funding will be given to a number of parishes, which are prone to flooding.
