Thompson & Blake head Jamaican contingent in Morocco

A large contingent of Jamaicans will be in Rabat, Morocco on Sunday for the 10th event of the IAAF Diamond League Series.

Rio Olympic double gold medallist Elaine Thompson heads the provisional list of 15 and is joined by MVP teammate Christania Williams and Jura Levy in the women’s 100m.

Yohan Blake is listed for the men’s equivalent while Warren Weir and his Racers teammate Zharnel Hughes representing Great Britain are on the list for the men’s 200m along with Rasheed Dwyer.

World and Olympic bronze medal winner Shericka Jackson and Novelene Williams-Mills are in the women’s 400m. The women’s 400m hurdles is packed with national champion Rhonda Whyte, Ristanana Tracey, Nikita Tracey and Jenieve Russell.

Beijing 2015 World Championship bronze medallist O’Dayne Richards is in the men’s shot put, Tajay Gayle is entered for the men’s long jump and Kimberley Williams is in the women’s triple jump.
