Sprint hurdler Shermaine Williams takes victory at Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic

2015 World Championship finalist Jamaica’s Shermaine Williams won the women’s 100 meters hurdles at the Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic in the Bahamas on the weekend.

Williams won the event in 13.04 seconds, to beat Deborah John of Trinidad and Tobago who clocked 13.10, with third place going to Haiti’s Vanessa Clerveaux 13.13 seconds.

Another Jamaican Rochelle Clayton was a fifth place finisher in the women’s 400 meters in 55.87 seconds, the event won by USA’s Dania Harper in 50.92 seconds.

Kavean Smith finished seventh in the men’s 100 metros after stopping the clock at 10.74 seconds, Olympic bronze medalist Walter Dix won the race in 10.19 seconds.
