The legend Usain Bolt heads Jamaica’s 59 member squad announced by the for the JAAA’s for the IAAF World Championships in London between August 4 and 13.
Bolt is among 30 male athletes named on the squad which also includes Olympic 110 metre hurdles gold medallist Omar McLeod, 2011 world 100 metres champion Yohan Blake, London 2012 Olympic bronze medallists Warren weir and Hansle Parchment, and Frederick Dacres.
Former world 100 metres record holder Asafa Powell is noticeably missing.
Meanwhile double gold medallist at the Rio Olympics Elaine Thompson is the headliner among the 29 female athletes, which also include Beijing 400 metres bronze medallist Shericka Jackson, and Beijing 100 metres finalist Natasha Morrison.
Christania Williams who was a finalist in Rio is also on the squad along with defending 100 metres hurdles champion Danielle Williams.
Donald Quarrie will be the Technical Leader for the squad to be managed by Ian Forbes with Maurice Wilson the head coach.
