A record attendance is expected at the upcoming IAAF Championships in London after the organizers revealed that 660,000 tickets have been sold for the event.
London 2017 have also announced that all remaining tickets for the event, including seats for sprint king Usain Bolt’s final 100 metre race, are due to go on sale next Tuesday.
This includes all 14 competition sessions recouped from changes in stadium requirements.
More than a quarter-million fans are set to attend the opening weekend of competition due to begin next Friday.
The opening night, featuring Mo Farah’s bid for a third successive 10,000m title, has already been sold out.
The previous highest attendance for an IAAF World championships was at berlin in 2009, where a total of 417,156 tickets were sold.
