by August 2nd, 2017

Neymar’s move to French side Paris St. Germain appears to be imminent with many time Spanish champions Barcelona confirming the Brazilian has asked to leave the club and will now be allowed to “resolve his future”.

The 25 year old drove into the Joan Gamper facilities with two friends half an hour before training, but he stayed just 43 minutes before leaving again.

Just hours later, Barcelona confirmed that a meeting had taken place between Neymar, his father, representatives and the club, in which the player confirmed his desire to leave this summer.

A statement from Barcelona read: “Before the morning session began, Neymar informed those present of his wish to leave the club and was therefore given permission to miss training and resolve his future.”

Barcelona have said Neymar’s €222m (£198m) release clause will “have to be deposited in its entirety”, while the contract extension bonus he is due as of August 1 “remains deposited with a notary until the case is resolved”.

Spanish radio station RAC1 report that Neymar’s visit to the training ground was to say his goodbyes to team-mates as he prepares for a move to PSG.

It is now expected that Neymar will head to Paris to continue negotiations, ahead of completing his money-spinning move to Ligue 1.

Neymar since joining the Catalan giants in 2013 has scored 105 goals in 186 games, with his last appearance coming in the International Champions Cup match against Real Madrid in the United States on Sunday.

While in Barcelona he helped the team win two La Liga titles, the Champions League and two Copa Del Rey crowns.
