Police probe murder and violence spike in East Kgn

The police say they are maintaining a strong presence in at least two East Kingston communities, as a result of violence between warring factions.

According to the Kingston East police, the violence in the Oliver Road and Jarrett Lane areas has claimed the life of twenty-year- old Angel Henry, a fisherman of Johnson Lane, Kingston 2.

Another man was shot and wounded in the incident which took place on Oliver Road in Rockfort yesterday.

Speaking with Irie FM News, Acting Commander for Kingston Eastern Deputy Superintendent Rory Martin says a conflict exists between thugs from Oliver Road and Jarrett Lane.

Reports are that about 6:30 a.m. yesterday, thugs from Jarrett Lane went to Oliver Road and fired several shots in the area.

The police responded and after the shooting subsided, two men were shot, one fatally.

DSP Martin says the police are following strong leads into the yesterday’s shooting incident.

He added that the police are pursuing some main players who they believe can assist with their investigations.
