Rafael Nadal suffered a shock quarter-final loss to nick Kyrgios at the ATP Western and Southern Open Tennis tournament yesterday after going down 6-2, 7-5 in a pulsating contest. 

Back-to-back matches for top seed and incoming world number one Nadal appeared to catch up with him as he lost in straight sets.

David Ferrer reached the semi-final with a 6-3, 6-3 win over win over Austrian third seed Dominic Thiem.

Grigor Dimitrov and john Isner are also through to the final four.
