Sean Paul Has Sold Over 26 Million Records

Jamaican international dancehall singjay Sean Paul has received a plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over 26 million records.

In August the RIAA certified 184 Song Awards and 50 album awards with Sean Paul’s 2003 chart topping single ‘Get Busy’ along with his 2005 hit single ‘We Be Burning’ receiving Platinum certifications, while his already platinum 2005 chart topping single ‘Temperature’ received a 3 x Platinum certification.

Other Sean Paul Platinum selling songs include his recent chart topping collaborations ‘Cheap Thrills’ and ‘Rockabye’ as well as previous collaborations ‘Baby Boy,’ ‘Bailando’ and ‘Do You Remember.’ Two of SP’s album’s ‘Trinity’ and the Grammy winning ‘Dutty Rock’ have long been certified platinum.

A platinum certification means over one million units have been sold.

Only five other Jamaicans have had platinum certifications in the US, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, they are: Shaggy, OMI, Damian Jnr Gong Marley, Cherine Anderson and, Ini Kamoze.
