by October 3rd, 2017

A petition has been launched for the freedom of former IAAF President Lamine Diack who is facing corruption charges in connection with cover ups of Russian doping.

Senegalese Diack is currently being held in the French territory of Monaco for nearly two years.

A petition to the Senegalese government is requesting that it intervene in order for Diack to be granted bail and have all restrictions on his movements lifted.

It states that without any prejudice the request is humanitarian considering his advanced age as well as current condition.

The petition pointed out that he meets the conditions to be granted bail and to make himself available to respond to justice whenever the need arises.

In addition the conditions he is made to endure is unbearable for his entire family, friends and many proud Senegalese citizens who recognised his work and his contributions to his country of birth and development of sports.
