The world’s fastest man Usain Bolt said he was humbled to have received a daytime Emmy nomination for the animated short film ‘The boy who learned to fly’ earlier this year.

The Emmys were held in April, and the film released prior to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. It was nominated in the category of outstanding special class animated programme.

The film traces the eight-time Olympic gold medallist’s humble beginnings as a schoolboy in rural Jamaica, following his introduction to the sport of track and field and his struggles to manage the weight of expectations as he emerges as a sporting icon.

The seven-minute film directed by Limbert Fabian and Jacob Wyatt…….. and produced by Gatorade and Moonbot studios was described by critics as ‘colourful and charming’ with ‘gorgeous animation’ and combines flat colours with 3d environments.
