by October 6th, 2017

Jamaica’s double world record holder Alia Atkinson was among the highest earners following action in the second cluster of the FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup series.

Atkinson, who won gold in both the 100m and 50m breaststroke events in Hong Kong and Doha, is currently 5th on the World Cup standings with 153 points.

Her latest performances saw her pocketing US $19,000 – making her the 6th highest earner – to bring her overall earnings to $38,400 dollars.

American Chad le Clos and Katinka Hosszu of Hungary both won $50,000 dollar bonuses in Cluster 2 to join Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom as the only swimmers with six figure prize money earnings so far.

Sjostrom, who heads the women’s division with 446 points, leads all athletes overall with earnings of $156,500 dollars.

Le Clos, the runaway men’s leader, is second overall with just over $129,000 with Hosszu in third after winning $128,500.
