2 Cruise ships return to Falmouth pier

by October 18th, 2017

Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett says two mega cruise ships have returned to the Falmouth port in Trelawny, after a recent fallout over tourist harassment.

Earlier in the year, reports surfaced that Royal Caribbean cruise lines had changed its itinerary and some ships were no longer calling at the Falmouth port.

Mr. Bartlett says the Oasis of the Seas and the Allure cruise ships have returned with greater benefits.

The minister says the government responded to the concerns through several programs against harassment, which included the training and certification of ten persons who previously offered visitors, guided services illegally.

He was speaking at the inaugural staging of the Falmouth heritage expo and the heritage map of Jamaica held at Water Square in Falmouth, Trelawny this morning (Oct 18).
