Usain Bolt on hand to witness Lewis Hamilton edge closer to F1 title

by October 22nd, 2017

Usain Bolt was on hand to witness Mercedes star leader Lewis Hamilton move a step closer to winning the drivers title for 4th time by claiming victory at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Victory saw the Briton moving 66 points clear of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel who finished second, with just 75 available in the remaining three races.

It means a 5th place in next week’s Mexican Grand Prix will be sufficient for Hamilton to become only the fifth driver in F1 history to claim a fourth championship.

Bolt who performed the duties of race starter was also taken for a few laps in a lime-green Mercedes AMG Roadcar around the Circuit of the Americas by Hamilton who vowed to ‘scare the life out of him’.

Hamilton joked on Sky Sports: “It was so good. Every now and again I do a lap around the track but the car was not as well speccd as this.

“But this car was the best one Mercedes have done.

“It was so much fun. It was so good because I pushed the car to the max.

“I wanted to scare him to death. He talks about being the fastest dude in the world. I wanted to scare him a bit.”

Bolt in response said “There’s no words to describe what just happened. I was not ready for that.

“The doughnuts were scary, they were a little bit scary.

“I was screaming a lot, I’m not going to lie!”
