Following the release of his debut album ‘Lily of the Valley’ roots reggae singer Jesse Royal made it to the top of Jay Z’s music streaming platform Tidal, as Tidal Rising Artiste of the Week.

Jesse’s stint as Tidal’s Rising Pick of the Week saw Jesse receiving a string of exclusive interviews and a specially curated guest playlist. In the ‘Small Axe’ playlist curated by Jesse Royal, he celebrated some of his influences from Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, to Buju Banton, Sizzla, more recently Protoje, Jah9, Keznamdi, even Aidonia, and rappers Jay Z, and the Notorious B.I.G.

Jesse Royal’s first studio album Lily of the Valley, debuted at Number on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and still sits at number on the chart.
