Jamaica’s Senior Sunshine Girls are now in Australia for this Saturday’s start of the International Netball Federation (INF) Fast Five Netball World Series.
The Jamaican delegation headed by Cora Ricketts, landed in Melbourne last night.
The delegation includes: coaches Sasha Gaye henry and Marvette Anderson, along with manager Faith Hall and physiotherapist Wendy Peart.
Experienced shooter Jhaniele fowler -Reid will captain the team which includes shooters – Shimona Nelson who played in the recent under 21 netball world youth cup in Botswana, in addition to Shanice Beckford and Rebekah Robinson.
The durable Paula Thompson leads the centre court trio which includes- Adean Thomas and Khadijah Williams, while the versatile Vangelee Williams, will team with Malysha Kelly and Stacian Facey in defense.
The tournament takes place on Saturday and Sunday and the sunshine girls will face defending champions new Zealand, along with Australia, England, south Africa and Malawi in the two day tournament.
The Jamaicans will open their account against South Africa on the opening day, following which they face Australia before wrapping up the first day against Malawi .
On the final day the sunshine girls face off with defending champions New Zealand before closing out their schedule against England.
