JC’s unbeaten streak ends, Cornwall College out of Dacosta Cup Race

Defending champions Jamaica College unbeaten streak in the ISSA Flow Manning Cup competition in five years came to an end today after they went down 2 nil to Pre-season favourites Kingston College in the group H’ quarter final encounter at Stadium East. 

With the win with the Kingston College team secured their spot in the semi-final coming out as group winners on 7 points one ahead of JC who were already sitting pretty in the last four.

Rashawn Makison gave KC the early lead and it was doubled in the second half by Fabian Grant.

Meanwhile Bridegport defeated Calabar 3-1 in their contest at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.

Also making progress to the semi-final was Holy Trinity as they blanked st Catherine high 2 goals to nil at Winchester Park to emerge group G’ winners.

However a playoff will be required between st Georges and St Andrew Technical.

This after both teams played to a nil all draw at Constant Spring ………finishing with identical three points and same goal difference.

Meanwhile a new champion will be crowned in the ISSA flow Dacosta Cup competition.

This as the semi-finalists will be last year beaten finalist Steths, Ruseas, Clarendon College and Dinthill

In today’s final quarter final games Cornwall College said goodbye to this season after playing out to a one all draw with Lennon at the Juici patties field.

Cornwall College yielded group honours to Ruseas who blanked st Mary’s technical 4 goals to nil.

Also making progress to st Elizabeth Technical who defeated Homlwood technical 3 nil in Santa Cruz to come out group winners.

Clarendon College booked their semi-final spot after coming out 3-1 winners over st James high.

Dinthill sealed their spot after blanking Central 2 goals to nil

In other results today Manchester high seal a spot in the ben Francis knockout after blanking Frome Technical 7 goals to nil.

In games of academic interest little London beat Glenmuir 3-2 while spot valley stopped Garvey Maceo 3 nil.
