Sunshine Girls head home after grabbing silver at Fast Five in Australia

Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls are now on their way home after they captured the silver medal at the International Netball Federation fast five championships in Melbourne Australia yesterday.

The Sunshine Girls rebounded from their fifth place finish at the last fast five championships to secure the silver this time around.

This after the sunshine girls were beaten 34-29 in the final by England who secured the gold medal in the final match

The Jamaicans advanced to the final match after winning all their preliminary round matches. This included a 30-23 win over New Zealand as well as a 47-38 win over England on the final day.

They also secured victories over Australia, South Africa and Malawi.

Meanwhile South Africa captured fifth place after beating Malawi 28-17.

This was the second time the sunshine girls were finishing second in the tournament having done so in the inaugural edition in 2009.

Australia secured the bronze medal after defeating New Zealand 34-15.
