Defending Champs’ Arnett Gardens rolls past UWI 4-1 in RSPL

UWI lost their unbeaten tag in the Red Stripe National Premier Football League yesterday after they were brought down to earth, this in 4-1 whipping by defending champions Arnett Gardens at the UWI bowl.

Ricardo Oldham opened the scoring for the Jungulist in the 12th minute, before Fabian Reid doubled the lead in minute 52, while Renae Lloyd and Damari Deacon got on the scoresheet in time added on.

Ryan miller scored the consolation goal for UWI.

The win carried the Jerome Waite coached Arnett Gardens to 12 points and into second place in the standings behind leaders Portmore united, UWI meanwhile slipped to third on the table.

The match between Boys Town and leaders Portmore was called off without a ball being kicked due to a water logged field at the Barbican Sports complex.

Reno’s unbeaten record ended as they went down 1-nil to former champions Montego Bay United at the Frome Sports Complex. Orlando Macbayne scored the all-important goal from the penalty spot in the 28th minute.

Sandals south coast picked up their third point of the campaign after playing to a nil all tie with Tivoli Fc at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex, while Humble Lion and Harbour View shared the points ………..also in a goal less draw at the Effortville community Centre.

Match day 6 closes tonight when Waterhouse hosts Cavalier in the Monday night fixture at the Drewsland Mini stadium starting at 8:35.
