St Mary police monitoring Annotto Bay post by election

Head of the area 2 police, ACP Norman Heywood says now that the polls have closed in the South East St. Mary constituency, cops are focused on keeping the community safe and incident free, in light of rising tension.

ACP Heywood says the police have escorted the ballot boxes from the polling stations to the counting centre in Annotto Bay.

He says while there were a few minor incidents, today’s by election was relatively smooth.

He says the police will also be trying to minimize congestion due to the party supporters gathering in Annotto Bay to celebrate.

ACP Heywood adds that the police are also keeping an eye out for anyone who may cause a disturbance.
