The man was shot and wounded last Friday October 27, after armed men stole his motorcycle.

38-year-old Melvin Smith, who was assigned to the Manchester Community Safety and Security Branch, was shot dead by an armed robber, while attempting to foil the robbery.

Meantime, Superintendent Cameron says the 3 men taken into custody in relation to the killing of corporal smith are still being interviewed.

One of the suspects will face identification parade shortly.
