Jamaica College wins 2017 Walker Cup title

Jamaica College have won on the first title on offer in the 2017 schoolboy football season……….the ISSA Flow Walker Cup…..the symbol of knockout supremacy in the Corporate Area.

This after a brace by Tyreke Mcgee steered them to a 2-1 win in last night’s final against defending champions Kingston College at the National Stadium.

The midfielder opened the scoring in the 27th minute before adding a second with the last kick in first half stoppage time.  Substitute Trevaughn Reid would pull on back for the purples in the 80th minute from the penalty spot.

The result sees the dark blues winning the title for a third time overall and for the first since 2010.

Meanwhile the kings of knockout football in the rural area will be crowned today with the playing of the Ben Francis Cup final between Dinthill and Clarendon. College at the Steths Complex in Santa Cruz.

This afternoon’s match is scheduled to kick-off at 3 ‘o’ clock.

Dinthill are chasing their first hold on the title while Clarendon College are hunting their 4th overall and first since 1998.
