Carrie Russell and Jazmine Fenlator moves closer to Winter Olympic Games qualification

Jamaica’s two member bobsleigh team of World championship relay gold medallist Carrie Russell and team mate Jazmine Fenlator moved one step closer for qualification to the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang Korea recently.

This as they had an impressive finish at the international Bobsleigh and Skelton Federation North American Championship race in whistler Canada finishing second out of a field of eleven.

The pair had the privilege of driving the Japanese brand new Shitimachi Sled.

The male athletes also had an eventful weekend of racing with pilot Selwyn Morgan having his highest finish in a north American cup race with brakeman Matthew McNally coming in 10th out of a field of eleven.

On the previous day brakeman Nimroy Turgot an MVP Track and field athlete pushed his fastest start time of 4.92.

Skeleton athlete, Anthony Watson wasn’t able to make it to the top 15 in order to get a second run in both races, however on day two of racing he moved up a place to finish 27th.

With a successful weekend of racing for all athletes, JBSF is looking forward to the upcoming races in Calgary.
