Concacaf’s hope of having a 4th team at the Russia 2018 came to an end last night after Honduras crashed to a 3-1 loss in the return leg of their World Cup Playoff against Australia in Sydney.
This to lose the two-way tie 3-1 on aggregate.
Mile Jedinak led the way with a hat-trick for the Aussies who are making their 4th consecutive appearance at the world cup finals.
The 32nd and final team to secure a spot at next year’s event will be decided later this evening when Peru host New Zealand.
The tie is evenly balanced after the teams played out a nil-all draw in the first leg.
