Arnett Gardens extend lead in Red Stripe Premier League

Last season’s beaten finalists Portmore United will seek to close the gap on leaders Arnett Gardens to two points when they play away to Cavalier fc to close out match day 12 of the Red Stripe Premier League this evening.

The teams will face off at Stadium East in a 8.35 start and Portmore United will move up to 24 points if they can secure a win

Cavalier currently in sixth place can join four other teams on 19 points providing they can secure victory

Meanwhile a double strike from Fabian Reid carried defending champions Arnett gardens to a 2-1 win over Harbor view at compound last night

Reid netted the go ahead goal in the 21st minute before doubling the lead in the 61st minute for the jungulist who climbed to 26 points, while Andrew Allen found the consolation in minute 64 for the Stars of the East who slipped to 8th place.

Elsewhere Waterhouse climbed a place up to ninth after they secured their first victory under Coach Donovan Duckie following a 2-1 win over UWI.

Waterhouse’s victory was engineered by Kemar Beckford who netted a double, while Ryan miller scored from the penalty spot for UWI.

In other games, former champions Montego Bay United also squeezed out a 2-1 win over Tivoli, new comers Sandals South Coast enjoyed their second win of the campaign after clipping Boys Town one nil, while the points were shared in the one all draw between Humble Lions and Reno.
