Miss Jamaica Universe 21 year old Davina Bennett, made Jamaicans very proud on Sunday night after she walked away as the 2nd runner up at the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Nevada Last Vegas.
Crowned with her natural afro, a very confident Davina stood out in a sparkling yellow gown, and had Jamaicans excited from the minute she made the Top 16 as a wildcard, to her Top 10 placement and ultimately her Top 3 placement.
Davina represented well, as Jamaicans from all walks of life, including the Prime Minister was glued to his television screen, and tweeted the #MissUniverseJamaica hashtag in anticipation of adding to her voting tally.
Davina became the second Jamaican to make the Top 3 at the Miss Universe pageant following Yendi Phillipps who placed 2nd in 2010.
The 2017 Miss Universe beauty pageant hosted by Steve Harvey was won by Miss South Africa, 22 year old Demi-Leigh Nel Peters.
