Entertainers respond to slave auction in Libya

by November 28th, 2017

It’s modern-day slavery”, “pray for Libya”, and “stand up black people” are some of strong the messages expressed via social media by some dancehall and reggae entertainers.

The cause for concern comes following graphic photographs showing some of our black brothers beaten, bloody, and locked up in Libya. Many were further outraged following videos which show our black men being auctioned off as slaves, and our black women sold into sex slavery in Libya.

In the grainy mobile footage, unidentified men are offered up as a group of “big strong boys for farm work”. The men are being sold for $49,982.50.

Queen Ifrica, Bounty Killer, Vegas, Cecile, Tifa, Cham, Konshens, Bling Dawg, Chronixx, Gramps Morgan, and Sizzla are some of the entertainers helping to raise awareness through their social media platforms.

Queen Ifrica took it a step further. In an Instagram video, Ifrica used a song to speak to the hearts of people and implore humanitarians around the world to intervene now.

The Libyan government is said to have launched an investigation into the slave auctions.
