Nikita Miller takes 5-60 for Scorpions against Volcanoes in Regional Four Day 5th round clash

The Jamaica Scorpions reached 43 without loss at the close of play on the opening day of the 5th round encounter in the Digicel Regional Four-Day Championship against the Windward Islands Volcanoes at Sabina Park.

This leaves them 158 runs from securing a first innings advantage with John Campbell on 37 and Trevon Griffith on 5

Earlier Windward Islands Volcanoes after electing to bat were dismissed for 200 runs, led by a top-score of 116 from Devon Smith.

He put on 54 for the third wicket with Taryck Gabriel who made 23.

Captain Nikita Miller was the standout bowler for the Scorpions, bagging 5 for 60 to push his tally to 13 wickets in only his third inning after missing the first three games. He was supported by Campbell who took 3 for 14.

Scores entering day 2, Windward Islands Volcanoes 200, Jamaica Scorpions 43 without loss.

Elsewhere the Barbados Pride after electing to take first strike closed the day on 282 for 7 against defending champions Guyana Jaguars at the Guyana National Stadium.

Justin Greaves is unbeaten on 72.

Kenroy Williams (68) and Kevin Stoute (47) were the other major contributors with the bat against Keon Joseph who took 3 for 63.

Over at Warner Park in St. Kitts, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes batting first were dismissed for 207.

The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in reply reached 148 without loss at stumps.
