Mineral Boss dead at 37

Entertainer and Producer Mineral Boss is dead.

Music News understands that the producer was shot and killed this morning at his home in Caymanas Bay close to Mineral Bath in St. Catherine.

According to CCU, about 9:30 a.m., residents reportedly heard explosions and summoned the Police. Upon their arrival, Mineral Boss was seen with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He and a female were taken to hospital where the producer was pronounced dead and the female admitted in stable condition.

Lawmen assigned to the Portmore Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of 37-year-old.

Entertainer I-Octane who is currently on tour in England, posted a message of disbelief after hearing the news of his sudden death.

Meanwhile, entertainer Quick Cook who said he saw Mineral Boss in less than 24 hours had this to say.

Mineral Boss was currently promoting his new single Break-Thru featuring I-Octane on the Daylight Riddim. The single is also featured on his EP, Vision which was released August 18 and distributed by JWonder 21st Distribution. His riddims include River Bed, Money Boss and his latest effort, Street Knowledge.

Producer Mineral Boss scored a mega-hit with Mavado’s Progress on the Money Boss Riddim.The song is featured on DJ Khaled’s Major Keys album, which topped the Billboard album charts late last year.

He has also worked with I-Octane, Quick Cook, JahMiel, Masicka, Singer J and others.

37-year-old Mineral Boss, born Cleon Jones was the chief executive officer of the independent label Mineral Boss Records (MBR).
