Kobe Bryant’s number 8 and number 24 Los Lakers jerseys retired

Fans at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night were on hand to witness the ceremony that retired the number 8 and number 24 jerseys that were previously worn by legendary Lakers guard….Kobe Bryant.

The ceremony took place during half-time of the game between the Lakers and defending champions Golden State Warriors. The Warriors won the game 116-114.

Bryant who retired last season finished as the Lakers’ all-time leading scorer and third on the NBA’s all-time list with 33,643 points.

The 39 year old who helped lead the team to 5 titles spoke during the ceremony.

He now becomes the 10th player in Lakers history have his jerseys retired.

The list is completed by Johnson, wilt chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’neal, James Worthy, Jerry West and Jamaal Wilkes.
