by January 12th, 2018

Head of the Hanover Police Superintendent Sharon Beeput is urging the cooperation of all Hanover residents, in the fight against crime.

Addressing the meeting of the Hanover Municipal Corporation yesterday (Jan 12) she said persons were in custody in relation to the four murders which have occurred in the parish, since the start of the year.

Those killed are 49-year-old, Richard Crooks of Haddington, 27-year-old Keno Ottey of Bamboo, 51-year-old Annette Smith, and 55-year-old Weston Garvey of Camp Road in Hopewell.

Smith and Garvey were killed last Friday, at their home.

Superintendent Beeput indicates that persons cannot be unconcerned about the crime situation.

And in another incident, the Hanover police chief says, she is awaiting a report into how a policeman was injured yesterday, while traveling in a JDF jeep.

The cop has been hospitalised and is reported to be unconscious.

Initial reports are that the officer was part of a patrol team, when he fell out of the vehicle.

Superintendent Beeput told Irie FM News today (Jan 12) she was awaiting all the details of the incident.
