Do not consume Portland’s Best products

by January 15th, 2018

Consumers are being warned not to purchase or consume coconut water, sorrel drink and other juices labelled ‘Portland’s Best’.

The North-East Regional Health Authority (NERHA) says the Portland Health Department has found these products to be unsafe for consumption.

Medical Officer of Health for Portland Dr. Sharon Lewis says the health department carried out a series of inspections at the processing facility, in Fellowship.

Dr. Lewis adds that the department also tested the products and found breaches that could compromise the health of the public.

A statement from NERHA says the health department has taken enforcement action by closing the establishment.
