5 year deal between Cricket West Indies and the Pakistan Cricket Board in doubt

by January 26th, 2018

The five year deal between Cricket West Indies and the Pakistan cricket board appears to be off the table.

Both cricket boards had signed a five-year deal on November 2017 that mentioned they will be playing three-match T20i series every year in Pakistan and a triangular series in the United States.

However it now appears that PCB chairman Najam Sethi has taken a U-turn mentioning it as a cost-effective option.

However, he did say that the first series between the two nations is still on for March.

The games were to be played in November, but due to the climatic conditions and logistical challenges, the tour was postponed.

Pakistan have successfully held matches against a world eleve and Sri Lanka so far.

However, the West Indies players association (WIPA) had sought a security and risk assessment from independent security firm eastern star international which gave a green signal.

In a press conference, Sethi confirmed the series for this year and even mentioned about the triangular series that will be held at Florida.
