Damian Juinor Gong Marley takes the GRAMMY

Messages of congratulations continue to flood social media for Damian Junior Gong Marley after bagging his 4th Grammy last night in New York.

Gong who was not present at the 60th annual Grammy ceremony to receive the award, copped the Best Reggae Album title for Stony Hill.

Common Kings and Morgan Heritage who did not get the win used their social media platforms to congratulate Damian Marley. Chronixx and J Boog who were also Grammy contenders are yet to send any public congratulatory messages.

Other industry players who sent messages of congratulations include Bounty Killer, Queen Ifrica, Cham, Kabaka Pyramid, Chino, Stephen Di Genius, Wayne Marshall, and his brother Rohan Marley.

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports Olivia Grange has congratulated Damian “Jr Gong” Marley on winning the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.

In a release from her ministry last night, Grange said in part: “I congratulate him on this latest success. It’s not only a win for Jr Gong but a victory for Jamaica’s Reggae music. We’re very happy that the Reggae Grammy is coming home to Jamaica.”

Damian Junior Gong Marley won his first Grammy in 2001 for Half Way Tree, Welcome to Jam Rock in 2005 which won two Grammys one for Best Reggae Album and Best Urban Alternative Performance, and his 2018 win for Stony Hill.
