2017 World  Indoor  tour  60  metres  champion  Gayon  Evans  just  missed  out  on  a  podium  finish  yesterday  when  she  placed  4th  at  the  Dusseldorf  World  Indoor  Tour  Meet  in  Germany.

Evans  clocked  a  season  best  7.25  seconds  to  finish  behind  British  sprinter  Asha  Philips  who  won the  event  in 7.17 seconds

Everton  Clarke booked  his  place  in the  men’s  final  but  withdrew  from the  event  after  posting  6.67  seconds  for  4th  place  in  semi-final  two.

The  evergreen  Kim  Collins  of  St  Kitts  and  Nevis  was  4th  in the  final  running  6.61  seconds  to  end  up  behind  Su Bbingtian of  China  who  won  in  a  meet  record  and  personal  best  6.47 seconds.

In the  meantime  the  American  Christina  Manning  ran the  fastest  time  in the  world  this  year  on  her  way  to  victory  in the  women’s  60  metre  hurdles  final.

She  produced  a  world  leading, meet  record  and  personal  best  7.77  seconds  to  win the  event  ahead  of  compatriot  Sharika  Nelvis who  registered  a  personal  best  7.80 seconds

Tomas  Stanek  of  the  Czech  republic  produced  a  world  leading, meet  record, national  record  and  personal  best 22.17  metres   to  win the  men’s  shot  put  event
