by February 18th, 2018

Several records tumbled last night in the 2018 Walter Rogers Age group National Swimming Championships at the National Aquatic center in Kingston.

The record breaking performances were highlighted by national swimmer Zaneta Alvaranga of the kaizen swim club in the 50 meters butterfly.

Competing in her first race in the 13-14 age group, the Carifta gold medalist began her career in the new age category on the best possible note by lowering the national record of 29.57seconds held by Kendise Nangle to 29.55 seconds.

That performance was the fastest time of the competition and the fastest time ever recorded by a girl at the championships.

Also in record breaking form was Angara Sinclair representing the Baylor Swim club? She lowered the 2014 …..15 and over 100 meters backstroke record of 1minute 07.93 seconds set by Danielle Boothe to 1 minute 07.39 seconds in her heat before returning to splash up the gold in the final with a time of 1minute 10.52 seconds.

Also in the record book was Brianna Anderson of the y speedos swim club, who recorded 30.07 seconds in the 15 and over butterfly heats, to erase the previous best of 30.32 seconds established by Daniel Boothe back in 2013 .

Anderson later returned to take the gold in 30.47seconds.
