The West Indies A team on Tuesday rushed into a winning 2-0 lead over England Lions in the unofficial four day ‘Test’ series when they pulled off a comprehensive innings and 17 run win inside of three days at Sabina Park.

Rahkeem Cornwall and Jomel Warrican combined to dismiss England A for 260 in their second innings after they had started the day at 34 without loss and facing a deficit of 277 runs.

Cornwall claimed 4 for 88 and Warrican picked up 4 for 69 while Raymond Reifer chipped in with 1 for 25 to secure the win for the Caribbean team.

This despite Liam Livingstone and Paul Coughlin putting up some resistance in an 83 run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Livingstone got 48 and Coughlin fell for 47 after captain and opener Keaton Jennings made 20. Alex Davies (21) and Nick Gubbins (22) were the other major contributors with the bat for England Lions.

Final scores in the match, England Lions 145 and 260, West Indies A 422.

The 3rd and final ‘Test’ will be played at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua starting on February 26.

The teams after the conclusion of the ‘Test’ series will meet in a three match unofficial One Day International series at the Stanford Cricket Ground in Antigua on March 6, 9 and 11.
