by February 26th, 2018

Former West Indies captain Courtney Walsh has been named as the interim head coach of the Bangladesh cricket team.

Walsh, who was the first bowler in history to take 500 test wickets, joined the Bangladesh set-up in September 2016 as a bowling coach on a three-year deal.

He replaces Chandika Hathurusingha who resigned in November of last year.

The 55 year old will get his first taste of action as interim head coach when Bangladesh face India and Sri Lanka in a tri-nation t20 series for the Nidahas trophy.

That series bowls off on March 8 with Bangladesh opposing India at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
