EOJ: all set for by election tomorrow

The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is reporting that it is in a full state of readiness to conduct the by-elections in the St. Andrew North Western constituency, and the Norman Gardens division tomorrow (Mar 5).

Voting is to take place in 112 polling stations in St. Andrew North West and 52 polling stations in Norman Gardens.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and will close at 5 p.m. after which, the preliminary counting of ballots will take place.

The team at the EOJ has been working diligently to ensure that all is in place for the by-elections.

The EOJ says all necessary materials and supplies have been prepared and distributed according to plans and training has been completed for all 420 Election Day workers.

The electronic voter identification system will be used in both elections.

There are 13,517 registered voters in the Norman Gardens division, while 30,216 are in the St. Andrew North Western constituency.

Only electors registered to vote in St. Andrew North Western and Norman Gardens will be allowed to vote in the upcoming elections.

Electors are being reminded that the use or display of cell phones and cameras is not allowed inside polling stations on Election Day.
