The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the appointment of Major General, Antony Anderson, as the new Police Commissioner.

The police service commission yesterday announced that Major General Anderson would take-up office on March 19.

The JCC has expressed confidence, that Major General Anderson, will hit the ground running, given his current engagement, as the National Security Adviser.

President of the JCC Larry Watson, states that the country must be prepared to give the new commissioner and his team, the resources necessary, to carry-out their duties, effectively.

He says, the crime problem did not happen overnight, and it will not disappear overnight.

Mr. Watson has pledged the support of the JCC, to work with the new Commissioner, to tackle the scourge of crime.
