Spinner Sunil Narine reported for suspected action in Pakistan Super League

by March 15th, 2018

West Indies mystery spinner Sunil Narine has once again been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action.

The Trinidadian was reported after Wednesday night’s game between Lahore Qalanders game against the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League T20 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

According to reports the player has been placed on a warning list but will continue to play and bowl for the Qalanders.

The PSL adheres to the ICC’s regulations with respect to illegal bowling action, which states that if a player is reported while on the warning list, he will be suspended from bowling in the tournament thereafter, but can be picked in the side.

The match officials’ report will also be forwarded to Cricket West Indies for further action after which Narine will have to go through the process – that is followed by CWI – for suspected illegal bowling actions.

Narine was previously suspended from bowling in international cricket in November 2015 after an independent assessment revealed that all variations of his deliveries exceeded the 15-degree limit during a Windies ODI match against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.

He was also earlier called out for a suspect action during the Champions League 2014 and IPL 2015, although the second time, he was let off with just a warning from the BCCI.
