Windies Women go 2-0 down to New Zealand in T20I series

The West Indies suffered another defeat on their tour of New Zealand, going down by 106 runs in the second women T20 International at the Bay Oval in New Zealand.

The Windies could only put together 78 for 8 after they were set 186 for victory.

Kyshona Knight, with 20, was the main contributor for the Windies women, while Merrissa Aguillera (16) and Deandra Dottin (13) were the only players to get to double figures.

Sophie Devine dismissed Dottin and Reniece Boyce, for a duck, in the space of three balls to reduce the visitors to 30 for 4, before accounting for Knight (who faced 35 balls) in the 17th over.

Offspinner Leigh Kasperek contributed with 2 for 13, while Kate Heffernan, Anna Peterson and Lea Tahuhu picked one each.

This after New Zealand women posted 185 for 3 from their 20 overs led by an unbeaten 71 from 42 balls from Amy Satterthewaithe.

Katey Martin also contributed 65 which included 11 boundaries.

Shamilia Connell (1-37), Deandra Dottin (1-34) and Akeira Peters (1-13) were the wicket-takers for the Windies who now trail 2-0 in the five match T20I series after going down 3-0 in the One Day Series.

Game three will be played on Tuesday.
