Borussia Dortmund boss Peter Stoger says Usain Bolt has “a lot of work to do” to become a top-level footballer.

Bolt, who won eight Olympic gold medals before retiring last year, trained with the Bundesliga giants on Friday.

The 31 year old was pictured training in the famous yellow and black colours of the Bundesliga club, enjoying a session with players who were not selected for international duty.

During the session, Bolt showed glimpses of flair and even scored a goal in a training match in front a bumper crowd of 1,409 at BVB’s training centre.

However Stoger, while recognizing the now retired sprinter’s talent, admitted he has a long way to go.

He said: “It’s all about procedure and movement, but the most important thing is that he had fun.

“I think he is talented, but when he wants to play at a higher level, he clearly has a lot of work to do.

“The physique he needs for his other sport is completely different from what he needs for football, but it was really fun for us. It was a pleasure for us to meet a guy like him and to work with him.”

Bolt recently played, and scored for Team Jose Mourinho vs Team Diego Maradona, in the Hublot Match of Friendship 2018 in Basel that featured the likes of Roberto Carlos, Hernan Crespo, Alan Shearer, David Trezeguet, Patrick Kluivert, Robbie Keane Marcel Desailly and Marco Materazzi

He will next take to the football field when he leads the World XI team in a Soccer Aid charity match at Old Trafford on June 10.
