by April 25th, 2018

The West Indies will open their campaign at 2019 ICC World Cup in England against Pakistan at Trent Bridge on May 31.

The 46-day tournament, to be played at 11 venues, sees a return to the format used in 1992 where all 10 teams will play each other in the league stage with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

It gets underway with England facing South Africa at The Oval on May 30.

The West Indies, who will be in action against the Pakistanis a day later, will next face Australia on June 6, South Africa on June 10 and England on June 14.

The former two-time champions will then play Bangladesh (June 17), New Zealand (June 22), India (June 27), Sri Lanka (July 1) and Afghanistan (July 4).

Australia meanwhile begin their title defense against qualifiers Afghanistan in Bristol on June 2 under lights.

That match is one of seven day-night contests scheduled for the tournament, including the repeat of the 2015 final between the Aussies and New Zealand at Lord’s on June 29.

The semi-finals will be played on July 9 (Manchester) and July 11 (Birmingham) with the final slated for Lord’s on July 14.

The eleven venues that will host the tournament are Lord’s, the Oval, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge, Headingley, Old Trafford, Taunton, Bristol, Chester-le-Street, Southampton and Cardiff.
