One P.O.I. surrenders to Westmoreland police

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson says one of the men listed as persons of interest this morning (May 3) by the Westmoreland police, has surrendered.

The man’s identity has not been released. He is being questioned by investigators.

The list identified 5 men, all from Grange Hill, who were asked to report to the police by 6:00 p.m. today.

They are:

A man known only as Robbie or ‘Gaza Man’ of Rocky Hole, Burnt Savannah district in Frome.

Tevin Tomlinson otherwise called ‘Nandy’ of Sterling district.

Derval Williams otherwise called ‘Lukie’ of Kings Valley district.

Martin Humes otherwise called ‘Kartel’ of Kings Valley district.

Edgerton Gordon otherwise called ‘Jason’ of Church Lincoln district.

Police say the men are critical to an ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of 7 people and wounding of 8 others in Grange Hill on Tuesday.

Police say their whereabouts must be reported to Crime Stop at 311, 811 or the police 119 emergency number.

Citizens are also being reminded that it is not only an offence to harbour criminals and provide a safe haven for them,  but it also places the lives of family and friends at increased risks of attack.

And, the Police High Command is making a final appeal for the men listed as wanted and as persons of interest by the Westmoreland police, to turn themselves in.

The men are being sought for questioning in relation to the gruesome shooting incident in Grange Hill on Tuesday.

Yesterday, 5 men were listed as wanted, while 5 other men were named as persons of interest this morning.

The wanted men were asked to come in by 12:00 noon today, while the persons of interest were given a 6:00 p.m. deadline.

So far, one person of interest has turned himself in to police.

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson is urging all those listed as wanted and as POI’s to surrender by 6 o’clock this evening.

He was speaking at a press briefing in Montego Bay this afternoon.

The wanted men, who hail from the Grange Hill community, are:

Isaiah Perry otherwise called ‘Matthew Perry’ or ‘Cat’ of Kings Valley district.

23-year-old Richard Hamilton otherwise called ‘Brutus’ or ‘Mad Move’, of Paul Island district.

Haldane Hamilton otherwise called ‘Fishy’ of Paul Island district.

30-year-old Jeffery Ramdass otherwise called ‘Boogie’, of Paul Island district.

49-year-old Burton Shearer otherwise called ‘Bap’, of Church Lincoln district.
