by May 3rd, 2018

The police have still not been able to get the proper identities of three women who perished in a fire, at an exotic night club in Port Maria, St. Mary, early this morning (May 3).

Police say the deceased have only been identified by their aliases, as they had only started working at the establishment the day before.

Head of the St. Mary Police Superintendent Bobbette Morgan told Irie FM News that the owner of the night club will be interviewed.

Irie FM News understands that the operator of the club who also lived at the premises lost everything in the blaze.

The police are asking persons who may have female relatives missing to provide photographs or come forward with information that can assist them with the investigations.

In the meantime, Fire Chief for St. Mary, Deputy Superintendent Andrew Wildman, says the Port Maria fire department received a call minutes after 4 o’ clock this morning that a building was on fire.

In giving an update, Mr. Wildman says the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.

Following the cooling down operations, the remains of the three bodies which were burnt beyond recognition were found.
