Continued operations yesterday by the security forces in St. James have resulted in another gun and ammunition seizure.
This follows operations on Friday, when about 8 guns, several rounds of ammunition and ballistic vests were found in the Ramble community.
Yesterday’s operations in the same community led to the recovery of a ninth firearm, over 250 rounds of ammunition, as well as 2 masks.
Head of Operations for the St. James State of Emergency, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealon Powell says about 9:25 a.m., officers found one Browning revolver and a bag with 50 rounds.
Later in the afternoon, a search in another section of the community led to the find a wide assortment of ammunition, to include:
One Smith and Wesson magazine
Thirty-one point 22 cartridges
Thirty-six 5 point 56 millimetre cartridges
One-hundred-and – 1.40 cartridges
Thirty-nine 7.65 cartridges
Three M16 magazines
Eight 9 millimetre Glock magazines
Police also found one butt stake firearm accessory and two masks.
No one was arrested in connection with the find.
